| USEPA RMP ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS IN FULL FORCE |
- Local and state fees increased to cover cost of increased enforcement efforts
- Many enforcement agencies are funded by the penalties generated as the result of enforcement efforts
- New Administration increasing EPA annual budget to accommodate expanded enforcement efforts
All of the above are adding to an already aggressive enforcement agenda at local, state and federal levels.
Now is NOT the time to put environmental regulatory compliance on the back burner. Today, the cost of non-compliance out weights the cost of compliance
The enforcement agencies and citizen action groups are taking compliance seriously. The regulated communities must do so as well because it's no longer "if", but "when" non-compliance becomes a costly error for any regulated operation that doesn't make compliance a priority.
